Repeat Prescriptions
Prescriptions should be ready for collection after two full working days , so you should remember to hand in your request at least three days before you need your medication renewed. Repeat Medication requests can be made by the various methods below:
- Using this website
- dropping in your repeat medication sheet (which was attached to your previous prescription)
- post (please allow extra time for the request to reach us)
- fax (01666 827515)
- email repeat.ghs@nhs.net
PLEASE NOTE We cannot take repeat prescriptions requests via telephone.
Please call into reception to pick up your requested prescription, alternatively we can automatically send the prescriptions to any of the towns pharmacies once they are completed. This means the medication should be ready for collection when you arrive, saving you a wait. If you do wish for us to forward your prescription please indicate this on the request slip.
Prescriptions are currently priced at £6.85. If you are on multiple repeat medications it is probably worthwhile contacting the Prescriptions Authority or asking your pharmacist for a pre-payment certificate which will greatly reduce your prescription charges.
If you are under 18 years of age, unemployed or on invalidity benefit then you will not have to pay for your prescription. Ensure that you fill out the reverse of the prescription form correctly and sign it, and have some proof that you are exempt from prescription charges with you when you collect your medication from the pharmacy.
Prescriptions can be redeemed at any UK pharmacy. Three local pharmacy’s are located within 150 metres of the surgery and are all in the High Street.
